Connect AI assistants

AI is more useful when it works from information you’ve chosen and trust. Bredbox’s MCP server lets AI assistants that speak the Model Context Protocol — Claude, and a growing list of other clients — search, read, and organize your library on your behalf: “find that sourdough article I saved last month and add it to my Baking collection.”

Before you start

You need the Pro plan, which includes developer features. See Manage your plan and data.

Connect a client

Open Settings → MCP Server.
Copy the Server URL: https://mcp.bredbox.app/mcp.
Add it wherever your AI client configures MCP servers (in Claude, add it as a connector).
The first time the client connects, Bredbox opens a consent screen in your browser — approve it, and the connection is live.

What a connected assistant can do

Out of the box, connections are granted read and write access to saves, tags, and collections — enough to search your library, fetch article content, create and update saves, and manage collections.

Deliberately not included up front: anything destructive. The first time a client tries a higher-risk action — moving saves to Trash, deleting collections — Bredbox asks you to approve that separately. And MCP clients can never permanently delete saves: everything they trash stays recoverable for 30 days.

Review or revoke access

Connected AI clients appear in Settings → Applications alongside your other authorized apps. Disconnect one there at any time — access ends immediately.
